HijackThis
This free download of HijackThis is freeware. A general homepage hijackers detector and remover. Initially based on the article Hijacked!, but expanded with a lot of other checks against hijacker tricks. It is continually updated to detect and remove new hijacks. It does not target specific programs/URLs, just the methods used by hijackers to force you onto their sites. As a result, false positives are imminent, and unless you are sure what you're doing, you should always consult with knowledgable folks before deleting anything. IBProcMan
This free download of IBProcMan is freeware. A standalone version of the little process manager included in HijackThis (Misc Tools section). Shows full paths to processes, optionally shows DLLs loaded by processes. Can save the process list (and dll list) to file, as well as copy it to the clipboard. Compatible with at least Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP and newer. Very useful for cleaning up systems infected with trojans or viruses that kill antivirus and antispyware programs. KazaaBegone 1.30
This free download of KazaaBegone is freeware. This free download is a Kazaa uninstaller which scans and removes all elements of all Kazaa versions, as well as all of the bundled software that comes with it. This new version is updated to remove Winsock hijackers correctly. This freeware is compatible with all Windows versions. Kazaa has updated its client again to version 3.2.7 (and, very briefly, 3.2.5), so in response www.merijn.nu/programs.php updated KazaaBegone to remove that as well. This new version 1.30 also prompts you to use Bullguard's own uninstaller to remove it, since it's hard for KazaaBG to remove a fully functional and installed firewall by itself. VundoFix
This free download of VundoFix is freeware. VundoFix is a freeware removal tool for many of the known variants of Trojan.Vundo, Trojan.Conhook and other similar infections. Generally an updated version is released once a week and in some special cases sometimes 2 or 3 times in a week. The tool has had great success removing the infection from over 1 million computers. One of the main install vectors for Vundo that we have found is through Java exploits in older versions of Java. Be sure to keep Java updated and remove older versions after updating.
